GNP Annual Event "Bringing Hope Home"

April 22^nd, 2012 marked Good News Partners’ 2^nd Annual Fundraiser, themed “Bringing Hope Home”. Our hopes of providing an entertaining, yet, inspiring afternoon were met by the enthusiasm of Chris Gardner, our keynote speaker. Chris has a background that many in the GNP neighborhood can relate to. He was a single father who was unemployed and homeless. He spent nights with his fourteen month old son sleeping in the subway when he could not afford to stay at a motel. His daily struggle to simply provide a meal for his son makes his success an even greater triumph. He has a story that inspires and instills a greater sense of the injustices happening in our own backyard.

God remains faithful to GNP’s mission, and continues to affirm the work we are doing in the North of Howard neighborhood by providing for our needs. With God’s provision and our support partners’ generosity, Good News Partners was able to net $85,000 at the event and expects $15,000 in follow-up gifts, bringing us to our $100,000 goal.  We are thankful for another successful event and look forward to opportunities to partner  in the future.
